My name is Chanel, I am a mother of two, Finley who is seven and Isla- Mae who has just turned five. When Isla was born I was desperate to get my hands back, so I could continue to provide for Fin. At this point I attended a sling library, which began my journey into babywearing. Not only did I get my hands back, but the joy of carrying my new baby was overwhelming.
When Isla was one I attended the School of Babywearing Peer Supporter course, which enabled me to become official help at another local library. In December 2013 I took over The Avon Sling Library, which has since been renamed South Gloucestershire Slings. We now run weekly, with sessions at the Old School Room Café in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, at Mothercare, Cribbs Causeway and at The Bean Tree Café in Staple Hill
In early 2015 I decided that I would like to take my babywearing career to another level and completed the Slingababy Consultancy Course. Now fully qualified I also offer my services on a one to one basis. I will happily provide consultations in my own home or in yours (distance permitting).
In my other working life I am also an Occupational Therapist and thus have a special interest in providing consultations to those with disabilities or self limiting conditions.
